Knowing that it is difficult to modify the U.S Constitution, should the Colorado Legislature propose an Initiative making it more difficult to amend the Colorado Constitution than Colorado's Statutory Laws? Click here to vote.

A Shining City On a Hill

Welcome to DaveSchultheis.com , my personal web site. I strive to make it a regular, information-packed destination for citizens of Colorado's 9th Senatorial district, as well as greater Colorado and the nation.

The unifying theme of this site is the unifying theme of my political vision: "a shining city on a hill." President Ronald Reagan used this phrase regularly to capture his vision for America as a bright light to the entire world; I share former President Reagan's vision. For America to remain the bright light it has been for over two centuries, political leadership must be based on the philosophy of the people who built the "city" in the first place.

That philosophy is rather simple and elegant. "We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men are created equal, and are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights." Yet today, we see government violating these rights in a cavalier and systematic fashion to achieve goals the American Founders never considered proper functions of government.

My aim as a state legislator is to stop the erosion of our founding principles in public policy. I firmly believe America can and must remain the world's brightest light, and that Colorado can exemplify this vision for the rest of the nation. I invite your help in realizing this noble and ambitious vision.

With you, for Colorado,

Dave Schultheis

My Republican Hopes for 2011

This November may very well mark a turning point in Colorado politics. Citizens are increasingly troubled with many politicians as well they should be. Many have abused their delegated power and forgotten who they serve. Furthermore, many have forgotten the definition of Limited Government and many Republicans have forgotten the Core values of the Republican Party to which they belong.

Over the years, I have been asked to identify those candidates who I believe will serve best in advancing the core values of the Republican Party. To that end, I have set up a webpage on my recommendations. In nearly every case, I have had personal one-on-one discussions with the candidates that I have endorsed. I will be updating this page from time to time through the election process.

2010 COLORADO LEGISLATIVE SESSION

The 2010 Colorado Legislature is now in session!

As many of you know, I remain a firm advocate for state's rights and deterring illegal immigration to better protect the jobs of Colorado citizens, among other issues. This session I am also making a stand for religious freedom in the public schools and preserving the sanctity of life. With your help, let's make 2010 a better place to live in Colorado!

Be sure to check out the bill's I've sponsored here!
